The basic commands used by police dog handler for dogs training

Trained dogs have many benefits to the owners. Even though we are not police dog handlers, we expect our dogs to be trained so that they would be an obedient and tranquil dog.  Especially specific breeds like Pit bulls or Rottweiler, these breeds are naturally aggressive. If they’re not trained, they would cause aggression and behavior issues. Therefore, training your dog will make sure that he or she is safe and well-behaved.
The basic commands that are used while training the dogs no matter they are trained by police dog handlers for law enforcement or just typical training for better behavior, there are several commands that are common and easy for dog training.
1.       Down – it is a command for dogs to lie down. It sounds like an easy command but is truly a main part of successful dog training session. As dogs are pack animals and they seek for their pack leader to follow. Therefore, it is necessary for handler to command and train the dog to lie down properly.
2.       Heel – any dog should learn to walk beside its handler on a loose lead, neither walking ahead nor lagging behind.
3.       Learning the word “No” – it is a command that dogs should be trained to understand what the word “No” means. Handler needs to train the dog to respond to this imperative word to save difficulty.
4.       Sit – this is a common command that is a part of obedience training program. Dogs should learn to sit properly by the command of the handler.
5.       Stay – trained dogs should stay wherever the handler commands to stay. It can be seen obviously whether the dogs are well trained or not. This command is critical in dog obedience coaching.
Dog obedience coaching gives the dog important task to do. Back in old days, dogs were to help human to do vital work such as herding sheep and protecting properties. But nowadays, dogs are just pets and have no vital job to do. Most of dogs that have been raised at home are getting fat and unhealthy. They have the proper job to maintain their health. Therefore, Basic obedience training can supply the dog with en extremely important job to do, especially for big dogs or high energy dogs.
In typical dog training or K9 training, police dog handlers know it well that it is a necessity to build themselves as a pack leader. Dogs are pack animals and they look for their pack leader to follow. The owner must build himself as the dominant animal to prevent all kind of behavior issues. If the dogs are trained properly, they will listen to handlers or owner’s command and won’t cause stress or problems.
Both police dog handler and typical dog handler realizes that dogs are powerful and helpful animals. They can just be your loyal pet and your guard for your home and family. They should be trained to discover their potentials and capabilities by easy basic commands. Well trained dogs are more desirable and will make owners happier.
