We all know that dogs have much more potentials than being just pets. They are very useful and helpful creature that can provide guardianship, assistance, and companionship. Police dogs or K9 Units undergo extensive training with their police dog handler. They have to be trained and performed various jobs such as handling people and substances. Police dogs handlers have to train and teach them different search and rescue techniques.

Training a dog is not an easy task. It requires time and effort. Police dog handler needs to work with the dog for long periods of time so that the two must be able to communicate. Obedience training can begin as they’re puppies or young. It takes about 6 to 18 months to train the dog. Each one has to keep perfecting their techniques and senses until they’re ready for the real job.
